With years of experience at PVG, Russ brings an incredible depth of knowledge about high-performing plants, container combinations, and what it takes to create beautiful, successful gardens throughout the season. Stop by throughout the day to ask questions, gather inspiration, and chat plants with someone truly passionate about helping gardeners succeed.

Whether you’re looking for help refreshing your containers, choosing dependable performers for your garden, or simply want to spend some time talking plants, this will be a relaxed and informative event for gardeners of all experience levels. Feel free to stop by anytime between 10am–2pm to browse, ask questions, and enjoy a little extra inspiration while shopping among the flowers at Wildwood.
Sunday, June 28th || 10--11:30am: Join us for a special visit from consulting rosarians part of the Rhode Island Rose Society for a relaxed and informative morning centered around the beauty — and challenges — of growing roses through the summer season.
Together, we’ll take a look at how this past winter affected local roses, review the season’s blooms so far, and discuss how to keep your roses thriving through the heat and slower days of summer.
Discussion topics will include:
• Summer watering and mulching tips
• Weeding and seasonal maintenance
• Deadheading and encouraging rebloom
• Rose hips and end-of-season growth
• Planning ahead for autumn rose care
• Fertilizing and late-season watering practices
• Reviewing your rose photos and answering questions
Guests are encouraged to bring photos of their own roses — whether you’d like to share successes, troubleshoot problems, or simply talk roses with fellow gardeners. The morning will begin with a loosely guided discussion at 10:00am, but guests are welcome to wander in and out throughout the event. Questions and conversation are encouraged at any time, so whether you’d like to listen in, ask for advice, or stop by later with photos and questions of your own, this gathering is meant to be relaxed, welcoming, and helpful for rose lovers of all experience levels.
The Rhode Island Rose Society will also be offering memberships during the event. Join for $20 and receive your membership card on-site, along with a 10% discount on rose purchases at Wildwood. Come spend the morning surrounded by blooms, conversation, and fellow rose lovers. For more information about the Rhode Island Rose Society, visit rirs.org
